What started as work became an unexpected revelation
When Ian was just four months old, we packed far more than camera gear, we packed diapers, bottles, endless layers of tiny clothes… and boarded no fewer than three flights for what would become our first major international journey as a family.What initially brought us to the United Arab Emirates was work. Abu Dhabi. Dubai. Meetings, productions, events, and long days behind the cameras. But somewhere between the energy of the cities, the silence of the desert, and the warmth of the people we met along the way, this trip became something much bigger than a professional assignment.It became a discovery.A country where cultures from every corner of the world somehow coexist, where tradition and innovation move side by side, and where we were welcomed with a kindness that instantly made us feel at home. Travelling with a four-month-old baby across airports, schedules, and unfamiliar places was never going to be easy. And yet, somewhere between sleepless flights, golden sunsets, and new friendships, the United Arab Emirates became far more than a destination. It became a place we know we’ll keep coming back to.
