In June 2018, what started as a simple idea became the beginning of a completely different life. With a van, a camera, and no real plan beyond following curiosity, Shams left France and headed north, chasing the midnight sun across Norway before slowly turning east, crossing the mountains of the Balkans, the endless roads of Eastern Europe, the warmth of Greece, the chaos of Turkey, and the ancient landscapes of the Caucasus.Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Pakistan… each border opened the door to a new world, new cultures, new friendships, and countless moments that no itinerary could ever predict.Three years. Thousands of kilometers. Endless roads, remote camps, mechanical surprises, breathtaking landscapes, and human encounters that would leave a permanent mark.Then came India.And with it, the unexpected.When the world suddenly stopped in 2020, Shams found himself on the other side of the planet, facing lockdowns, uncertainty, closed borders, and eventually an emergency evacuation back to Europe as Covid spread across the globe.For many, that would have been the end of the journey.For him, it was simply another chapter.Months later, but heartbroken, he returned to India navigating endless paperwork, shipping challenges, and one final mission… bringing the van home after one of the most intense adventures of his life.What began as a road trip became something much bigger.It became a new way of living.A new way of seeing the world.And the very first chapter of The Adventurous Family.
